So, when do you use the Treasure Chest method?

At the end of a session, you’ve often picked a few winning ideas, for example with Greatest Hits. You’ll develop these ideas further or take them into a follow-up. But in a brainstorm, sometimes hundreds of ideas come up. Isn’t it a shame to only take a few? What do you do with “the rest of the best”?

In Treasure Chest, you collect the biggest treasures from your brainstorm and stash them in a treasure chest to pull out later — or tick off.

How does Treasure Chest work?

To use Treasure Chest, you’ll need a special canvas.

1. Give each group a Treasure Chest canvas.
2. Open up the Treasure Chest.
3. Participants stick (or write) in all the ideas that shouldn’t be forgotten.
4. Add the recipient’s name or the session topic to the label on the chest.
5. Gift the treasure chest to the person who will develop the session’s results, or at least makes sure it happens.

Bonus: used the canvas? Scan the code on it for a nerdy “I’m opening the treasure chest” tune.
